Go Beyond
How many of us go beyond, or even feel we can go beyond, indeed how many leaders don’t take people beyond either as a group or individual? Going one step further, how many leaders recognise or know how to take people beyond.
The short story below illustrates my ‘Go Beyond’ leadership belief, Many of God’s people stay in their comfort zone, restrict themselves because of their self talk, their minds says they would like to do something but don’t really believe in their abilities, negative self talk. In the past there may have been a situation where they had to “Go Beyond” got embarrassed, felt odd or whatever thus the result is a person who limits their potential, bacause of a negative memory. How must our Lord feel, His plans hindered because we think we can’t, news flash it not you its God, lean on Him, rely on Him, Trust in Him.
Once upon a time, there was a general who was leading his army into battle against an enemy ten times the size of his own. Along the way to the battle field, the troops stopped by a small place of worship to pray for victory.
The general held up a coin and told his troops, "I am going to implore God to help us crush our enemy. If this coin lands with the heads on top, we'll win. If it's tails, we'll lose. Our fate is in the hand of God, let's pray wholeheartedly he hears us." (havent we heard this before ~ 1 Samuel 14)
After a short intensive prayer, the general tossed the coin. The troops watched it go up, spinning in the air and land and were overjoyed when it landed heads up and went into the battle, filled with faith and in high spirits. Just as predicted, the smaller army won the battle. The soldiers were exalted, "It's good to have God on our side! No one can change what He has determined."
In reality the coin had heads on both sides. He thought for a moment what he was about to do then he went beyond and showed his troops. It’s our inner belief about who God says we are not how we feel or what others say. We all have potential the trouble is that many don’t ‘Go Beyond’. Leaders take you, and your people beyond, explore together what it is like going over the horizon into the unknown.

A brief study of the two words, ‘Go & Beyond’
Go ~ (הָלַךְ, hālakh, יָלַן, yālakh, בּוֹא, bōʾ, יָצָא, yāçāʾ; ἄγω, ágō, ὑπάγω, hupágō, ἀναβαίνω, anabaínō, ἔρχομαι, érchomai, ἀπέρχομαι, apérchomai, πορεύομαι, poreúomai): "Go" ("went," etc.) occurs very frequently in the English Bible, and is the translation of a great many different Hebrew and Greek terms. As the word implies movement of all kinds, physical and mental, it has naturally many applications. In the Old Testament hālakh and yālakh are among the commonest words, meaning "to go" in its original sense of "to walk,"
Beyond ~ Found in the Hebrew only in its application to space and time, and for these ideas three words are employed: הָלְאָה, hāleʾāh (Genesis 35:21) = "to the distance"; עָבַר, ʿābhar = "to go beyond" "to cross" derivative עֵבֶר, ʿēbher (Chald. עֲבַר, ʿăbhar) = "across," "beyond" (Deut. 30:13; Joshua 18:7; Judges 3:26; 1 Samuel 20:36; 2 Chron. 20:2; Ezra 4:17, 20; Jeremiah 25:22); and עַל, ʿal (Leviticus 15:25) = "beyond the time."
My view is simply this, go implies movement preferably forwards and beyond to move further than your current mind, skills, knowledge or even behavioural set. What would have happened if Joshua did not follow Gods instructions Joshua 1 v 1&2 and ‘Go Beyond’.

Make a commitment today break out and break through mind, skills, knowledge and behavioural sets, our Lord wants us all to ‘Go Beyond.’
