Respect

Time to come off the fence and stand up as over this past week in England, we have seen civil disorder and have all prayed for our Lord to intercede and restore this land to its Christian heritage.

In situation like this, the media and individuals often point the blame at THE LEADERSHIP. What leadership, are we talking about governmental, business even church leadership?  The issue I believe is much, much closer to home as we have seen on the TV more than often people are quick to point at everyone else except himself or herself.

We ought to look inwardly, take ownership, responsibility for our actions, our behaviour, our response to situations and people.  Time to stand and shout we are Christians, not just Sunday Christians, but standing together protecting our community, cities, regions and nation.  Wherever you worship we are as one showing respect for one another.

A good time to reflect on RESPECT, which could mean:

Recognize the inherent worth of all God created
Eliminate derogatory words and phrases from your vocabulary
Speak with people . . . not at them or about them
Practice empathy and walk awhile in others' shoes
Earn the respect of everyone you come in to contact with, through your behaviour
Consider others' feelings before speaking and acting
Treat everyone with dignity and courtesy

It’s time to recognised that we are all called to lead, leading yourself as we sail this stormy water show others the light that is within you who it comes from, be that light/beacon (Philippians 2:15)  shine out for Christ and lead the way.
